Federal government extended NIN registration deadline, Check New date

The federal government has extended the NIN registration deadline to a New june 30.

The extension follows a meeting between the Minister of Communications, Isa Ali Pantami, and the heads of the NCC and the NIMC.

NIN REGISTRATION DEADLINE

A statement from the NCC and the Ministry of Communications said the decision to extend the deadline to June 30 was prompted by a request from authorities that it would allow citizens to register more easily.

“Significant progress has been made in registering NINs and telephone lines,” the statement said.

“Nearly 54 million people now have a NIN number, which means about 190 million subscribers since research shows that each NIN number contains three to four lines.”

The statement added that telecommunications companies and other NIMC institutions have reopened new registration centers to allow more people to do so.

The Nigerian government says combining telephone lines with a NIN number will improve the security and information available to citizens as a whole, while increasing the number significantly at government offices at every level.
