We will recruit one million more N-Power members in Nigeria – Buhari

Nigerian Minister of Humanitarian Affairs Sadiya Farouq says the government will recruit one million N-Power workers across Nigeria in the near future.

The minister made the remarks at an awareness campaign in Abuja on how journalists should conduct their work.

During the event she said “one million people will be recruited under the N-Power program as group C under the community assistance program.

Since International Workers’ Day, President Buhari has announced his government’s plan to double the number of N-Power beneficiaries from 500,000 to one million.

Sadiya said the N-Power system and others launched were designed to fight unemployment and the security crisis in Nigeria.

“Currently, the ministry is nearing the completion of the recruitment process for the third batch. The first batch will be divided into 500,000 and the second batch will be finalized 500,000 later,” he said.

In 2016 the government created the N-Power program with the aim of reducing the number of unemployed graduates, giving them 30,000 a month-to-month.
