How to Apply for 100K GAF Business Empowerment Programme – Gbenga Aiyeremi Foundation has started 2022 N100,000 Business Empowerment Programme for Nigerian Youth.
Our goal is to help aspiring and emerging Nigerian entrepreneurs to start, grow and scale their businesses.
Founded by Gbenga Aiyeremi, a Nigerian philanthropist and serial entrepreneur who in a bid to promote entrepreneurship development in Nigerians decided to provide microbusinesses with expert advice, continuous guidance, and financing to grow their businesses.
Applications are now open for the Green Agribusiness Fund (GAF) Green Agribusiness Fund is designed to invest in agribusiness initiatives/companies that are deemed socially responsible in their business dealings in various parts of Africa. These businesses must be owned by young Africans who are living in Africa.
The focus is to raise the next generation of agric entrepreneurs that will lead great initiatives in agriculture and position agriculture in Africa on the path of decent jobs creation, food security and improved living standard.
This initiative will promote agribusinesses focusing on priority aspects of agriculture such as post harvest loss, climate smart farming, urban farming, seed and soil improvement, precision farming, agtech, access to market and agro commodity trading.
Themes
Sustainablility: Youth-led agribusinesses that will be accommodated on this initiative must deliver value to all stakeholders without degrading economic, social and natural capital.
Rural Economy: This initiative will promote youth-led agribusiness innovations that address poverty, labor, crisis, rural urban migration and improved living standard in natural economies across Africa.
Technology: This initiative will prioritise youth led agribusinesses that incorporate technology in their business projects
Gener Balance: This initiative will give priority to businesses founded and led by young women. It will also give priority to businesses that show clear plans to employ young women particularly within rural economy.
Youth Enterpreneurship: This initiative will focus on youth and opportunities for entrepreneurship; business ethics, aligning with macroeconomics policies for business gains, funding and trainings to foster youth-led agribusiness across Africa.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant on the pilot phase must be citizens or residents of Nigeria or Rwanda.
- Applicant must live in Nigeria or Rwanda.
- Applicant’s business must be registered and operational in Nigeria or Rwanda for at least one year.
- Applicants must be between age of 20-35 at the time of application.
- Applicants must be an agricultural entrepreneur and business initiative. must address the themes of the initiative.
- Application must address reduction of young women’s unemployment within their communities.
- Applicants in a partnership should apply together with their partners as one company.
- Applicants in partnership must provide consent letter from partner(s).
- Business of applicants must be sustainable, financially viable and must be their authentic idea.
In a case where applicants have more than one business focus, only one of the business focuses should be presented
Selected beneficiaries are not allowed to apply again in the future.
Funding Categories
. Micro Business
Nigeria has a large number of micro businesses that contribute to economic growth. Most of these micro businesses have taken a beating financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In an attempt to provide financial support and to give them the confidence to grow, the Gbenga Aiyeremi Foundation (GAF) is giving NGN100,000 grant to selected micro business owners across Nigeria.

Do you have a passion to start your own business but require funding to build a prototype ?
If we are serious about developing entrepreneurship in Nigeria, we must listen to people’s business ideas and actively support their innovations, as these can be the secret to the business successes of tomorrow.
Current employees or their families from JR Farms and affiliate/partner organizations are not eligible to apply. Applicants must be willing to share equity stake for a period of 4 years.
Applications must be made in English or French Our young people need to be open to the idea of creating a new job rather than looking for one.
GAF is focused on providing NGN100,000 to individuals with viable business ideas who can show that the sum can help them build a prototype of their million dollar business idea in other to attract the needed investment.
